LEIA

Leia, a 14 year old Chow Chow mix saved the life and home of her family this week.  Her Mom, a client of Parkside Animal Hospital, was working in the kitchen when Leia became agitated; whining, barking and going back & forth from the kitchen to the laundry room till her owner finally followed.  As they neared the laundry,  the strong smell of gas filled the air. 

Immediately vacating the home of people and pets,  Leia's Mom called the fire department and the gas company from the back yard on her cell phone.  On inspection by the fire department a gas hose was found completely free from it's connection. 

Leia's determination and her owner's sensitivity to her obvious distress saved home and hearth and the lives of her family.
